A log file, a code listing or an exported note has to be attached, printed or filed as a document.
The text is flowed into pages at a chosen font, size and margin, and the result is a paginated PDF with selectable text.
Plain text has no line length. Long lines either wrap at the margin, which mangles code and log output, or run off the page. Convert code and logs in a monospaced font with wrapping turned off and a landscape page, or accept that the structure will break.
UTF-8. A file saved in a legacy Windows code page can produce mojibake, so re-save it as UTF-8 first.
Only with a monospaced font. In a proportional font, tabs stop lining up as soon as the characters have different widths.
